President's Message

Hello to everyone around the world from (in my humble biased opinion - the greatest country there is, there was, or ever will be) Canada.

At last count there were 174 countries in the world. 2025 has been an interesting year, as every year can be, in one way or another (good or bad). Unfortunately bad news in Europe, as the war between Russia and Ukraine still rages on after 3 long years. I really hope there can be peace between these two countries. There has been far too much suffering, especially on the Ukraine side where 95% of the fighting is taking place.

May is mental health awareness month.
Life can be short, so make the most out of every day positively with the cards you have been dealt. If you are feeling down don't be afraid to reach out for help. We all have our own story and there will always be someone to hear you and help make changes if need be.

I'm going to start talks with the DFA Board of Directors this year about a family reunion for 2026 or 2027. Of course everyone in the family and friends of the family will be welcome to attend. If anyone out there has any ideas or suggestions feel free to reach out to myself or one of the board members (Vaughn, Jeanne, Dean, Brad, Todd, or Amanda).

Volunteer Web Designer Wanted

Hi: Our web designer (Vaughn) will have to retire one of these days...

So we are looking for a younger family member who is skilled at HTML, PHP, and perhaps SQL, who would be interested in taking over the responsibility of maintaining our family website and sending out email blasts. If you know of someone who fits the profile (or if it's you) please get in touch via email at vaughn@dragland.org. He would be grateful and happy to share techniques and resources until you are ready to take the reins.
